The CORE-RRENIB course  Multi-hazard Risk: definitions and methodologies  (3 CFU)  is scheduled on May 13 and May 15, 2024. In both dates, the classes are scheduled from 10 to 13 and from 14.30 to 16.30. The course will be offered only in person.

This CORE-CV course is offered by the RRENIB curriculum and it will start on  October 4, 2023. The course aims to describe and analyse geotechnical methodologies for the study and assessment of landslide risk in natural and man-made slopes.

18-01-23  : Next week will start the PhD Cross-CV Course on the "Risk Management". 

This course is arranged by a first theoretical part (by Prof. Riccardo Minciardi) followed by thematic seminars. It is possible also to partecipate to a single seminar.

All lessons will be in presence (most in Room A6 in Villa Cambiaso - Via Montallegro 1 - 16145 Genova).

Two more seminars are ongoing to be scheduled in March; the dates will be announced soon. Interested students are invited to send an email to serena.cattari@unige.it and riccardo.minciardi@unige.it.

Few info on Prof Andrew Pickering: a leading scholar in the field of Science and Technology Studies. His studies in the fields of cybernetics, history of technological innovations, ontology and philosophy of science, have significant implications for the understanding of the co-constitution of human and material agency in the digital transformation of work and organizing (advanced robotics, A.I., etc). Professor Pickering has held fellowships at MIT, the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, Princeton University, the Guggenheim Foundation, the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford and, most recently, the Institutes for Advanced Study at the Universities of Durham, Konstanz and Bauhaus University, Weimar. He is currently an Emeritus professor at the Department of Sociology, Philosophy and Anthropology. Some of his most important works are: 'The Mangle of Practice: Time, Agency and Science' (1995), 'Constructing Quarks: A Sociological History of Particle Physics,' (1999) e 'The Cybernetic Brain: Sketches of Another Future' (2010).
